<BackDistinct from the investigative aesthetics approach, which offers a compelling and robust conceptual and practical framework for interacting with data and information through the critical implementation of mediation technologies and counter-forensics, my focus will be on how aestheticizing social and environmental violence can have a positive impact on those directly affected. Here, it is important to highlight that I am not aiming to discredit Weizman and Fuller’s concept of investigative aesthetics or the work of Forensic Architecture, which both indeed play a crucial role in my practice, but rather to use it as a reference point, borrowing a selection of ideas and concepts to ideally expand them through a perspective of the South.
